It's been a while since I did one of my massive step by step's and to be honest I'm kind of tired of them, so heres a quick update of my past month in food:
I discovered the most AMAZING pattisserie. Sydney throws a mean food party every October with The International Food Festival (formerly known as Good Food Month), and me and some friends headed down to Haberfield for a street foodie event for a day, where we stumbled on this place: http://www.pasticceriapapa.com.au/main.html They are sooo good, and their cannoli is to die for. (Note how there is no cannoli in the photo, this is because it did not survive to be taken home. Sad.)
I went into raptures of pure joy when I realised that right across from Papa's is an awesome little deli which has all the best baking ingredients that you canot find anywhere else.
One of my Med Buddies gave me the best recipe to make God's gift to breakfast/tea ever: Cinnamon Scroll Buns. My first attempt at it was a little awry, mainly because I suck at cutting the rolled up dough into into separate scrolls, but nonetheless they tasted great.
And finally, I had my first semi-successful attempt at a 'good' chocolate cupcake, when I made some for a friend's birthday treat.
